The Glen
Known simply as “the glen”, a natural park southwest of Oxford Mills was a popular gathering place in the 1930s and ’40s. A glen is a narrow secluded valley. The glen on the south bank of the Mill Creek, flowing northeast to the Wapsipinicon River, was just that — a narrow strip of timber so thick that it felt secluded, and the ravine there was like a valley. ……………
